Recent times there is a strong buzz about adipurush ,movie based on epic ramayana finally the film hit the screens today ..lets see how it is..
Plot:
Janaki (kriti sanon),raghava (prabhas) and seshu (sunny Singh) exile in forrest.one day, demon lankesh( saif ali khan) obducts janaki by diverting raghava and seshu with a magical deer.. rest of the story how raghava won over ravana and brought back janaki…
Plus points :
Prabhas is looking perfect match for the role raghava aka sri raam…he done this charecter with ease obviously he is done before in bahubali… seriously the way he delivers dialogues,his screen presence looked very royal . It feels like prabhas made for this role…he fits as lord sri raam
Saif ali khan did amazing job as lankesh..his perfamance as fiery ravan has been terrific…he matched prabhas with his incredible look in few scenes …his performance is award worthy…
Devadutte Nage,the marathi actor,gave life to the bajarangi charecter…he looked great .. and janaki as kriti sanon had done a decent job… Other actors dont get lot to perform they did decent job
First half of the film is the major plus point in this movie …where most of the drama in the movie placed by director OM RAUT . He did a good job setting up a great sequences in the first half where raghava meets bajarang,vali-sugriva fight, sabari meets raghava,bajarang sets lanka on fire.it was a eyefeast to watch those epic sequences to witness in theatre and om rout presented and excuted very nicely..
Another talking point is music..soul of the movie…ajay-atul songs are very good .most of the credit goes to background score of the movie..it elevated every scene in a great manner….
Minus points :
As i said first half is good second half is bland and draggy.. it never had any drama has a lengthy war sequence makes you bore and exhausting. Editing team done a poor job and director dont have anything to show in the later part rather than battle..
Half cooked vfx work made the film cartoon.its made on budget of 500 crore with average visual effects…they took lot of time for rework the vfx but it didnt paid off well..
Major drawback of adipurush is that its dubbing in telugu,makers said its a hindi-telugu bilingual but most of the actors mouthing hindi dialogues and except prabhas dialogues makers didnt write good dialogues for other charecters…
Lankesh’s look and his lanka designed very badly ..and makers took a lot of cinematic liberties that may didn’t go well with certain people …
Technical aspects :
Telugu dialogues some are good…some dialogues are bad.. telugu lirics penned by ramajogayya sastry did a good job and the music duo ajay – Atul music good as well.. the background score by sanchit balhara and Ankit balhara standout in the movie ..
The production design created by priya suhaas and nishant jogdand may nt recieve well.. 3d effects are good..
Coming to the director om rout he did a decent job, he focused on war sequences more than emotions …he put all the drama in the first half neglected the second half.. should have put some drama in the second half it have been a different scenario..
Verdict :
On the whole, Adipurush is a decent film …it has a entertaining first half and a boring second half …it majorly depends on prabhas and saif ali khan perfomances .the background score and songs made a difference to cover it poor vfx works .ovarall its a good movie for family audience to watch this weekend…
